Principals Report

 

  • Thank you to Tracy Charest and Patty Arcidiacono for all their help with the bulletin boards and Halloween parade.
  • Progress reports will have two new subjects in addition to the specials, science and health.
  • Hat and glove collection was very successful.
  • Ongoing shoe collection to recycle shoes – box is to the right of the display case by stairwell.
  • Phone calls for emergency will go to home phones in the evening and early morning on the assumption that those are the times that people are home. If there are issues during the school day calls will go out to all numbers.

  • Holiday Extravaganza - Thank you to Kathy Buczek for an outstanding job in coordinating a very fun and successful evening for our families.  Thanks to everyone who pulled together to make it all happen;  Jennifer Nowak, RaeAnn Resta, Jahaira Paino, Kathy Roosa, Amanda Black, Victoria Johnson, Susan Reardon, Michele Gurysh, Trish Sexton, and all of the volunteers and parent vendors.   
  • Genaurdis escript and Bogia Book program – need more advertising to increase participation.  Target program – Oliver Heckman receives 5% of Target purchases, link on website under ongoing programs.  Bogia book program – you can buy a book for the library that is donated in their name.  Advertising ideas? Amanda Black suggested labels for the agenda books.  Brian Kern suggested the Heckman headliner calendar.
  • Pizza Bingo – volunteers still needed for set up and snacks from 5:30 – 9pm.  Thank you to Amanda Black for volunteering to chair pizza bingo.
  • Kristin Nolan and Jennifer Nowak to chair spring book fair.  Volunteer sign ups to come.
  • In need of a chairperson for copy helpers.
  • Board positions for 2011-2012 school year – open positions (President, and Corresponding Secretary)

 

Calendar of Events

 

  • Coffee talk -tomorrow  1/20  9:30 – 11am – Heckman cafeteria.  Come and find out what was discussed at the PTO Meeting on Wednesday night, share thoughts and suggestions and have a cup-o-Joe!  Pot luck snacks.  Small children welcome.
  • Pizzeria Uno Night (Oxford Valley)– Thursday 1/27 6 – 8:30pm
  • Footballs in the hallsMon 1/31 – Fri 2/4 – During lunch/recess periods this week, the PTO will be collecting donations (minimum $1) for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.  In return for each donation, your child will pick a colored paper football, representing the Super bowl contender of their choice, to sign and hang in the hallway.  This is a great opportunity for the kids (and grown-ups) to show their community and team spirit!
  • Pizza BingoFriday 2/4  6pm – 8:30pm Maple Point Middle School Cafeteria.
  • PTO MeetingWednesday 2/16

  • Original Works – kicks off on Tuesday 2/22  artwork will be due back in 3/7
  • Skating Party at the PalaceSunday 3/20 from 5:30 – 8pm

  • Puttin’ on the HitsFriday March 25th at Maple Point Middle School.
