MCAS Certification @ NHS
Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist Testing
Neshaminy High School’s BCIT department is an official MCAS training and testing site for Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist Certification. Passing Microsoft’s national validation test(s) assures an employer or college of the student’s level of competency in a given application by having met an internationally recognized standard. To date over 300 students have earned one or more of the following MCAS certificates at the NHS testing site.

- Excel Core
- Excel Expert
- PowerPoint
- Word Core
- Word Expert
BCIT Courses that can prepare students for MCAS testing include:
- Advanced Word Processing (Word Core, Word Expert)
- Information Processing I & II (Excel Core, Excel Expert, Access)
- Multimedia-PowerPoint (PowerPoint)
*Neshaminy High School will not be testing in the Spring of 2010 due to a software update to Office 2007. Students will need to become more familiar with the new software in order to sign up for a MCAS test. Testing will begin again next school year.
