A Read To Succeed Program in which all 1^st graders participate is called 100-Book Challenge.  Children have the opportunity to read daily in the classroom and required to read at night at home as well.  This program encourages them to read, develops an appreciation for literature, and improves reading skills and strategies.  Books are designed to meet each child’s individual (independent) reading level.
